What is the function of the do_bypass_cfm option when using JAM/JBC files to update the CFM contents of Intel® MAX® 10 devices?

Environment

  • Intel® Quartus® Prime Lite Edition
  • Intel® Quartus® Prime Standard Edition
  • All

BUILT IN - ARTICLE INTRO SECOND COMPONENT
    Description

Enabling the do_bypass_cfm# option when programming Intel® MAX® 10 devices with JAM/JBC files will bypass the selected CFM portion and perform the specified action on the remainder of the flash.

This option only works if the Initialization Configuration Bits (ICB) settings have not changed between the existing programmed image and the new programming image.

If they are not the same, then the JAM/JBC player will issue a full-chip erase and re-program the ICB.

When performing remote updates with this flow, CFM0 should be used to store the factory image and should not be erased, since erasing this will erase the ICB settings.
