Why does Intel® Stratix® 10 FPGA Remote System Upgrade reconfiguration sometimes fail when driving nCONFIG?

Environment

    Critical Issue

    Description

    Remote System Upgrade reconfigurations may sometimes fail and requires a power cycle of the Intel® Stratix 10 FPGA to recover the configuration.  This problem may be seen at a low probability while reconfiguration is repeated when driving nCONFIG.   

    This problem applies to either the Active Serial Configuration modes or Avalon® streaming configuration modes.

    Resolution

    To work around this problem in the Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software v19.2, download and install patch 0.18fw from the following links: 

    Note: You must install the Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software v19.2 before installing this patch.

     

    This problem will be fixed starting with the Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software v20.3.
