Troubleshooting steps for an Intel® Server Board S1200SP and Intel® Integrated RAID Module RMS25KB040 combination when the operating system (OS) installation does not start in UEFI (Unified Extensible Firmware Interface) mode

Description

When server board is set to Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI) mode, the operating system installation does not begin. Only a black loading screen can be seen.

Resolution

Windows Server* 2016 is not a validated OS for the Intel® Integrated RAID Module RMS25KB040.

Proceed as follows to attempt to resolve this issue:

  1. Enter the BIOS menu by pressing F2 during POST.
  2. Select the Advanced Boot Options menu.
  3. Set the Boot Mode to Legacy.
