If you want to identify whether your OS is supported, after you identify what your Ethernet device is, go to:

Select your operating system from the choices below. Follow the steps to identify your Intel® Ethernet Controller and determine the latest adapter available.

Click or the topic for details:

Windows® 10, Windows 8.1*, Windows 8*
  1. Right-click Start, and then click Device Manager.
  2. Double-click Network adapters to expand the section.
  3. Right-click the Ethernet Controller with the exclamation mark and select Properties.
  4. Go to Details tab, and then click Hardware IDs. Highlight and copy the first ID.
  5. Use your web search engine to search the Hardware ID, and then identify the associated adapter.
  6. Search for your adapter in the Download Center to find the latest drivers available to install.
Windows 7*
  1. Click Start > Control Panel > System and Security.
  2. Under System, click Device Manager.
  3. Double-click Network adapters to expand the section.
  4. Right-click the Ethernet Controller with the exclamation mark and select Properties.
  5. Go to Details tab, and then click Hardware IDs. Highlight and copy the first ID.
  6. Use your web search engine to search the Hardware ID, and then identify the associated adapter.
  7. Search for your adapter in the Download Center to find the latest drivers available to install.
Windows Server 2012*, 2012/R2*, 2016*, 2019*
  1. Right-click Start, and then click Device Manager.
  2. Double-click Network adapters to expand the section.
  3. Right-click the Ethernet Controller with the exclamation mark and select Properties.
  4. Go to Details tab, and then click Hardware IDs. Highlight and copy the first ID.
  5. Use your web search engine to search the Hardware ID, and then identify the associated adapter.
  6. Search for your adapter in the Download Center to find the latest drivers available to install.
