Intel® Xeon® Processor E5-2600 and E5-2400 Family with Intel® C604/C602-J Chipset

Formerly Romley-EP/EN (Sandy Bridge-EP/EN + Patsburg)

Based on the Intel® microarchitecture (formerly Sandy Bridge), this processor series is the first to offer solutions ranging from 8-core/single-socket up to 16-core/two-socket, providing significant performance improvement over previous generations. When paired with the Intel® C604 or Intel® C602-J chipset, single or dual-socket configurations maintain compatibility with enterprise platform requirements.

  • Automated low-power states put processor, memory, and I/O controller into lowest-available power states while meeting current workload requirements
  • PCI Express* 3.0 integrated on the processor die and two Intel® QuickPath Interconnect (Intel® QPI) links boost performance, reduce latency, and save power
  • Intel® Advanced Vector Extensions (Intel® AVX) accelerates compute performance for signal and image processing applications
  • More memory channels and PCIe lanes compare to previous generation for enhanced performance
