Cloud CIO: The Two Biggest Lies about Cloud Security

Despite the fact many surveys show the biggest concern about cloud computing is security, enterprises continue to plan and deploy cloud initiatives. In this blogger’s opinion, most of the concerns relate to whether public cloud computing is secure enough, and the argument is usually framed as public cloud insecure, private cloud secure. The author refutes this argument, seeing it as one of the biggest misunderstandings about cloud security. In the first case, he describes why assuming that a private cloud is inherently secure is a bad idea. In the second case, he explains why security for a public cloud is shared rather than the sole responsibility of the cloud service provider.
