Intel, Univa Private Cloud and Multi-Cloud Management Guide

For companies who are looking to build their own cloud computing infrastructure, including both enterprise IT organizations and cloud service providers, or cloud hosting providers, the decision to use a cloud for the delivery of IT services is best made by starting the knowledge and experience gained from previous work. This White Paper gathers into one place the essentials of cloud computing architecture coupled with an example installation of Univa UD’s private cloud software. The installation, using Intel®-based servers, creates an internal cloud environment and configurations steps that should significantly reduce the learning curve for building and operating your first cloud infrastructure.

It should be noted that the creation and operation of a cloud requires significant integration and customized to existing IT infrastructure and business requirements. As a result, we do not expect that configurations described in this paper can be used “as is.” For example, adapting to an existing network and identifying management requirements are beyond the scope of this paper. Therefore, it is expected that the user of this paper will make significant adjustments to the design we present in order to meet specific requirements.
