Public Key Infrastructure

Authenticate users and servers to encrypt and digitally sign documents

Enhanced malware protection

Intel® Identity Protection Technology (Intel® IPT) with Public key infrastructure (PKI)1 is a second factor authentication for business and web services that validates when a legitimate user—not malware—is logging in from a trusted PC. This technology is available on 3rd generation and higher Intel® Core™ vPro™ processors. Intel IPT with One-time password (OTP) is available on 2nd generation and higher Intel® Core™ vPro™ processors2.

PKI is a system of digital certificates, certificate authorities, and other registration authorities that verify and authenticate the validity of each party involved in an Internet transaction. Intel IPT uses PKI certificates stored in firmware to authenticate the user and the server to each other and to encrypt and digitally sign documents.
